Upright Go 2 review – a smart health device you must have it to correct your postural defects !

There are devices which, when you see them, you immediately think: “I must have it!” So when I first saw the Upright Go on the Apple Store website, I knew I had to get it! Upright Go is a small device with the old-fashioned “spider” function that will help correct postural defects and prevent slouching. I invite you to read this Upright Go 2 review.

Upright Go 2 is the second generation of Upright Go. The device was more refined, smaller in size and got an improved design. What exactly is this product? To say it’s an old “spider” is a gross understatement. Upright Go 2 is not only to let us know when we are sprawled, but also to counter it. Everything is focused on your daily straightening out training.

First impression

The Upright Go 2 is packaged in a box with the full set. It includes a device, protective packaging, instructions and a set of dressings. It is worth buying an additional amount of patches so that you do not have to constantly order them on the Internet. What are these patches and what they are used for, I will describe later.

The packaging is of high quality, as is everything inside. We are therefore dealing with a high-end product. The Upright Go 2 itself is really small and looks like a pill. It only has one pimple, although it’s not really a pimple, but rather a place that feels a pressure. The only connector we can find there is USB-C, thanks to which we can charge it.

The protective packaging is a small plastic box with space for the device and a patch.

Everything is beautiful, well done – no complaints.

How is the Upright Go 2 used?

The question is, how is it used? It is a portable device, but quite unusual. I can’t wait to answer!

There are two ways to dress Upright Go 2. A typical one, which I use, and the other, new, which appeared as an option around the turn of October and November of the year 2019.

The first method is based on the fixes mentioned earlier. Each patch is double sided. One part is glued to the device itself (there is a special place for it), and the other between our neck and shoulders. The placement on the neck is very important because the device must be able to capture the moment when you collapse! One patch even lasts 8 days, so very long. It has a special protruding element to make it easier to remove. And the protective packaging we put Upright in is designed so that the patch does not get caught on it.

The second way is a special collar which can be purchased for the device. The Upright is put there and hung around the neck. This way you don’t need any bandages. Only the collar will be visible on the neck.

Application

The device itself is not very useful without the app. She’s the brains behind the whole operation. You can pair the device with the app by holding the main Amount button a little longer. After pairing, an app will appear that will guide you step by step through the process. the only language available is English.

In the middle part of the app, there is a green figure that indicates if you are slouching at the moment. To display it correctly, you must define your posture, that is to say put the Upright, choose the right position and straighten yourself. This will be your ideal state, which you will seek out during the day. There is a red dot on the main window. If you tilt your head slightly, the app will display it. If you slouch too much and pass the red dot, the app character will turn from green to red and be unhappy.

There are two main modes in the app – Tracking and Training.

Tracking continuously monitors if you are slumped. It shows you whether you are standing, slightly slumped or tight. It collects this information and at the end of the day you can check how it went. Statistics show how much you have practiced, how long the data has been collected and how much the device is charged.

Below are percentage comparisons – line to curve and length of training versus length of follow-up. At the very bottom will appear if you achieved the goal for the day and how much time you spent on it.

While tracking, Upright won’t bother you unless you slouch for 15 minutes. In this case, it vibrates to force you to sit up.

The training is aimed at improving your posture. It works on the principle of achieving daily goals. At the very beginning, you just need to consider whether your lifestyle is sedentary only, active only, or maybe mixed.

After entering training mode, you need to be upright for a limited time. If you start to sag then Upright will vibrate until you straighten up. Other goals are increasingly difficult to achieve. If you can reach the goal on Monday, the goal on Tuesday will be harder to reach. If you manage to reach the goal on Tuesday, the goal on Wednesday will be harder to reach, etc. The difficulty is to prolong the recovery time and the frequency. At first it can be once for 3 minutes, then twice for 8 minutes, etc.

Over time, the app will ask you to rate whether you are walking straighter. This is your subjective assessment and is intended to help developers verify if their product is working.

And something more! There is also a desktop app (certainly on a Mac), so you can also measure your posture without a phone, just sitting in front of the computer.

Upright Go 2 every day

And how is he with this device every day? If I had to answer briefly: it works. The device will last you all day. You charge it at night, so there’s no problem with the battery. The patches last a long time and are reusable.

During monitoring, all data is collected and clearly displayed. The integration with the Health app for iOS also works, but the results are displayed in the Mindfulness section, so if, for example, you meditate, the results will be mixed.

The training mode is terribly painful, but that’s the point. Upright is like a trainer who won’t let you go, even if you think there is nothing you can do anymore. It irritates and forces recovery. But it is not perfect. First of all, it sometimes switches between training and monitoring modes, so it can surprise you with a strong vibration when you least expect it, for example while sitting in front of the computer in a position that is certainly not recommended in the work regulations

The second problem is precision. It sometimes lacks a bump and, for example, does not buzz, although it should. The location of the device can also be important here.

And the last thing is our habits. Remember to load it up and apply it in the morning. And in the evening, put it back on charge. If we don’t look at ourselves, we’ll forget it.

Summary

I am really happy with this device. Healthy posture is a process and if we have a muscle soreness problem we need to fight it. Upright Go 2 allows this and is therefore a big plus for me. Sure, it has a few small issues, but overall it’s really neat and new updates pop up every now and then (one of the last ones improved how it works when tying shoes).

I recommend Upright with a hand on my heart to anyone who has a laziness problem
