Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra: the robot with artificial intelligence that sucks, washes, fills, empties, and even monitors the house! # CES2022

As we have seen in recent tests, the field of robot vacuums has evolved a lot, and the fashion is for automatic dump stations. The top-of-the-range models even wash the floor, with a water management system using different tanks. But the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra unveiled today at CES 2022 in Las Vegas promises to be the Rolls Royce in the field!

The manufacturer has just unveiled its new flagship bundle, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. Equipped with a new smart station, the S7 MaxV Ultra features the very latest Roborock technologies, to deliver a higher level of cleaning with even greater ease.

Contrary to popular belief, robot vacuums still require frequent handling by users, both in terms of maintenance and operation.. We’re trying to change that by providing consumers with an even more self-contained solution that requires minimal interactions with the device. It is therefore necessary to create a vacuum cleaner capable of identifying and adapting to the different objects in its path, including carpets and obstacles, while emptying and maintaining himself to the maximum. With the S7 MaxV Ultra, users take a further step towards full autonomy in cleaning floors.

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra: the new standard in automated cleaning

An Ultra-Dock that does it all

Compatibility with the new automatic station, named Empty Wash Fill Dock, reduces manual maintenance by the user. While the previous station was confined to emptying the robot’s dust container, this one goes much further since it also has two water containers: one for clean water, the other for dirty water , like what had achieved Yeedi with his MOP Station. The robot thus regularly empties its dirty water and takes again clean water in order to obtain a perfect washing of the ground. The mop is automatically cleaned during and after cleaning sessions, making the S7 MaxV Ultra ready for its next use. The smart station also self-cleans, so it always stays clean.

Its automatic water refill function allows the S7 MaxV Ultra to clean up to 300m2, which is 50% more than its predecessors, while the dust bag can hold up to 7 weeks of particles.

ReactiveAI 2.0: the improved obstacle avoidance system

We discovered ReactiveAI technology during our Roborock S6 MaxV review. A technology combining a dual camera and 3D scanning system, capable of recognizing many objects and thus avoiding them: shoes, electric cables, pet droppings, etc. In use, this technology had proved particularly effective in helping the robot in its movements, so that it never found itself in a complicated situation requiring human intervention.

This technology is upgraded to V2: this time ReactiveAI 2.0 technology combines an RGB camera and a 3D scan by structured light with a brand new neural processing unit. Designed to act with greater precision (22% more accurate), the Roborock S7 MaxV adapts faster to objects in its path (77% improvement), to intelligently navigate around them, whatever the lighting conditions. . It recognizes and positions furniture in the app, allowing the user to initiate faster cleaning around the dining table or sofa with one touch of the icon. It identifies the different rooms of the house, down to the specificity of their floors, recommending the appropriate cleaning method, the suction power or the intensity of the friction.

But another function is also proposed: that of remote camera. Via the application, it is indeed possible to connect to the robot’s camera and direct it around the house, in order to check that everything is going well. Perfect when you are away and have a doubt (removal of doubt following an alarm, check that a door is properly closed, etc.). A remote dialogue function would apparently also be part of it!

Regarding the concerns of some users regarding cameras integrated into the robot, know that the S7 MaxV Ultra is certified in accordance with the cybersecurity standard ETSI EN 303 645, by TÜV Rheinland.

VibraRise mop technology.

Designed for continuous cleaning sessions, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra features the manufacturer’s VibraRise technology, a sonic vibration mop that improves floor cleaning. This mop automatically rises as you approach carpets, vacuuming carpets and cleaning hard floors in one pass. A technology that has proven to be effective during our Roborock S7 Review, which was the first model to be equipped with it.

All these technologies are coupled with a maximum suction power of 5100Pa4, allowing the S7 MaxV Ultra to offer users a deep cleaning.

To improve washing, Roborock has also approached the Omo brand, in order to develop a cleaning product that can be added to water without risk of damaging the robot in the long term. A product which should be available during the first quarter, and which will also be compatible with the Dyad, a mop vacuum cleaner (whose Review is to come 😉

An evolving application

The Roborock application was already one of the best in the field, with particularly comprehensive card management: merging of rooms, or separation, setting up of prohibited areas, virtual walls, naming of rooms, definition of the cleaning route, etc.

Thanks to the properties of this new Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, it is also possible to know the nature of the soil, or to have a 3D cartography of the housing (2D remains possible for those who prefer this type of visualization).

Roborock Q-Series: making self-emptying an essential part of robotic cleaning

But the announcements weren’t just about this new model: a new range, Q-Series, is a newly designed mid-range offering, which combines the auto-dump function with proven S-series technologies. The Roborock Q7 Max as well as a new dump station, the Auto Empty Dock Pure will be the first of the series, available in France before summer 2022.

Pricing and availability

The Roborock S7 MaxV will be available in Q1 2022 for a suggested retail price of € 799.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Plus will be available in Q1 2022 for a suggested retail price of € 999.

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra will be available in Q2 2022 for a suggested retail price of € 1399. A price that clearly places it at the top of the range. But in view of the functionalities, this is justified: here we have the most complete robot in the field. At least on paper. So we can’t wait to be able to check all this during a Review!
